Burn a Podcast to Show Bill You Care

On 11/17/06, Bill O'Reilly used his radio show to denounce, among other things, PlayStation 3, iPods, and "computer geeks". Being such a geek myself, I took offense at his remarks. Borrowing a page from O'Reilly's own boycott playbook, I present a good, ol'fashioned podcast burning.

ROFLMAO!

Hey, since you're a self-described "computer geek", let me pick your brain for a minute. I see you're using the blogger beta. My blogs are quite extensive, and one in particular has literally years of tax protester / scam stuff on it. Honestly, I'm half afraid to change over, for fear of losing entries, etc. Any thoughts?

You shouldn't lose any entries if you do it all by hand, such as what I have been doing. I don't know of any way to automatically import other blogs into Blogger though there certainly seems to be a lot of ways to import Blogger entries into other softwares. It's a long and tedious process. What I recommend is leaving your older blog intact and import entries as you can while typing new entries on Blogger.

I'm sorry, I guess it would have been helpful to tell you that my old blogs are also on Blogger. I've just been asked if I want to transfer them to the beta version of Blogger. :-)

Blogger says that it won't affect the blog entries, but rather just the blog functions. Still, I can't help but worry about what will happen if they are wrong. Is my concern valid, or am I being overly concerned?

To be quite honest, I highly doubt the blog entries would be lost. The only thing I have noticed different in Beta is truly some functionality gains. There are still a few broken things, such as the Mac Widget not functioning with Beta.

If your concerns cannot be allayed that easily, then you have nothing to lose by waiting for Beta to go gold. You can continue blogging until such time as you desire to switch over. Moreover, you might inquire of other users in your situation as to what their experience has been. Google Groups probably has a dedicated Blogger group and I would imagine that anyone who has switched to Beta and lost entries would talk about it there.
