Christ as Pharaoh

Like the king of Babylon, the Egyptian Pharaoh was also an enemy of the Jewish god. The prophet Ezekial has numerous curses for the Pharaoh, and many of them seem to foreshadow Jesus’ own death at Roman and Jewish hands. Beginning in Ezekiel 32:5-6:
And I will put your flesh upon the hill,
and put into the valley your dead body.
I will also water with your flow of Blood
the land even to the mountains;
and the valleys shall be full of you.
Almost immediately there are striking similarities to Christ’s fate. From being crucified atop a hill, Golgotha, to the blood and water flowing from him following a spear wound received while on the cross, the imagery here nearly matches Pharaoh’s curse. Reading on to Ezekiel 32:7-8:
And when I shall put you out, I will cover the heavens, and make the stars of heaven dark. I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.
All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over you, and set darkness upon your land, says Lord GOD.
This becomes even more prophetic of what is read of the events immediately following Christ’s death in Luke 23:44-45:
And it was about the sixth hour,
and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.
And the sun was darkened,
and the veil of the temple was torn down the middle.
There has been no doctrinal reason given in the Christian church why these things occurred at the moment Jesus died. The symbology argument is impossible since Christians believe the world was given new light with his death as opposed to be plunged into darkness. Jesus’ own words before dying, “Father, why have you forsaken me?” would seem to indicate a man who feels he has lost the blessing or protection of his god. If his divinity is to be believed, why would he suddenly feel forsaken? Was his godhood revoked at the last possible moment so he could die a mortal death? If so, what indications show he ever had such a power, other than his own claims?
The story of his death taken together with the curse pronounced on Pharaoh would make the latter appear all the more prophetic of the fate awaiting an enemy of the Jewish god. As with the similarities to Babylon, it is small wonder the Jews rejected him as a Messiah even to modern ages.
