Minarets and stupid Swiss people

While I don’t believe people not part of a given country are qualified to comment on that country’s laws, the recent Swiss vote to ban the construction of new minarets is pretty blatantly stupid.  It’s a reactionary bit of xenophobia, fueled by and in turn fueling fear, hatred, and animosity.

Which is why this story of a Swiss man acting in defiance of the law and constructing his own minaret, despite not being Muslim or even religious, as an act of protest for what is clearly a bill of attainder in American terms.
