All Dogs Go to Heaven

Five and a half years ago, a white English bulldog pup was born into the world.  His name came to be called Connor and he was the boon companion of someone who eventually went through a rough patch in his life.  Connor moved from Idaho to Georgia, where he became friends with Beth and Sheba, my two American shepherd friends, and also one notoriously aggressive cat named Samson.

He was a beautiful dog and after some initial hesitation, became one of my friends as well.  He had a playful bite and loved his head scratched and shed his white hair unrelentingly onto every surface.  His raspy bark would greet me whenever I saw him and he tried his best to keep up with the often too-energetic antics of his fellow canines.  He was a source of friendship, unconditional love for someone who came into my life, and most of all, vigor and life.

He died today, in the Georgia home he came to know best, after suffering a heat stroke related episode.  If there is a place to be raptured to, he is there now.  All dogs go to heaven because they are the only ones who really deserve to.

Eternal peace, Conner.
